About Turkey
Turkey is a paradise of sun, sea, mountains, and lakes that offers the vacationers a complete change from the stress and routine of everyday life. From April to October, most places in Turkey have an ideal climate that is perfect for relaxing on sandy beaches or enjoying the tranquility of mountains and lakes.
Turkey also has a magnificent past, and is a land full of historic treasures from 13 successive civilizations spanning 10,000 years. Even if you spend only a short time in Turkey, you can see a lot of this great heritage. There is no doubt that one visit will not be enough, and you will want to come back again and again as you discover oneextraordinary place after another. All of them, no matter how different, have one thing in common: the friendly and hospitable people of this unique country.
Fethiye
Fethiye is a quite seaside town, with a pleasant bay, a boardwalk, public gardens and facilities for the many tourists who come here all seasons of the year. Near the town are the ruins of Telmessos, an ancient Lycian city.
A walk through the streets of the town reveals several ruins of the Lycian city, such as a sarcophagus next to the post office. A group of graves cut into stone, among them the splendid tomb of a nobleman named Amyntas, are located south of the city. On a hill above Fethiye town are the ruins of a Crusader fortress, which was used by the knights of the Order of St. John. The fortress was built on the ruins of the Lycian acropolis from the fourth century BC.
Olu Deniz
The famous lagoon - probably the most photographed beach in Turkey - is a conservation area, where you will find translucent turquoise waters and attractive beaches. Its scenery is such, that no matter how many times you look, you will gasp with awe the whole area has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The rest of Olu Deniz beach is a vast expanse of sand, shingle and pebbles. Watersports are available along Olu Deniz beach but are not permitted in the lagoon area itself.
This is an excellent location for couples and families alike and for those who wish to enjoy a sun and beach setting.
Olu deniz is a ideal holiday destination for families, couples, yachters, paragliders and adventure sport lovers of all ages.
BLUE LAGOON The Blue Lagoon of Olu deniz has calm, crytal clear waters which makes it ideal for a variety of water sports and a very safe place for children to swim. Part of the lagoon is now a protected area (and it`s a national park).
